Tony+Day Part 2

“So… Daystryke?”

Dee Ess looked a bit amused when his roommate curled up tighter on his berth, his back facing him.  “I know you did something with Toni.”

The mech flinched.  “I’m sorry,” he whispered hoarsely, optics dimming to black.

“Day, you need to tell me what you did before the femmes get here with the will to maim you.”  Daystryke mumbled something that Dee Ess couldn’t hear and the scout frowned.  “Say that again?”

“I kissed him!” Daystryke yelled at him, turning around to face Dee Ess head on and Dee Ess blinked.  There were tear stains on his cheeks and after the initial flare of energy, his optics had dimmed back down to near off.  Daystryke continued in his broken voice.  “I kissed him.  I gave in during a moment of weakness and I ruined everything with him!  I ruin everything I care for…”

“Oh Day…”  Dee Ess moved over to the other’s berth, forcefully picking up the tactician and holding him, ignoring how the aqua-blue optics widened in surprise.  “You need to talk to him,” he said.  “You need to find him and tell him how you feel about him otherwise you’ll lose the chance you have.”

“But what if he doesn’t want to see me?” he asked, sagging against Dee Ess tiredly.

The scout frowned.  “When was the last time you fueled?”

“I…  I dunno.  I kinda forgot since I’m not meeting up with…”  He fell silent after that, turning his face away from Dee Ess.

The scout sighed through his intakes and shook his head.  First he’ll get some fuel in Daystryke before the mech went into stasis lock.  And then he’ll pound into his head how stupid he’s being and to go talk to Toni!

It was the first day that Daystryke had been released from the “off duty” roster to light duty and he went to his scheduled task in the command center after Dee Ess had forced a cube of energon in his hands

Going back on duty was a normal occurrence, just showing up, getting the job done until the time was up, and then go back to his room.  He had no reason to go to the rec room.  While he tended to get along well with Fusion, Sureshot, and their team, all appeal was lost when he thought of the shocked look Toni had given him.

Toni didn’t want to see him again, anyway.

It didn’t matter.

Daystryke rounded the corner and nearly ran into the mech of his thoughts.  He froze, optics wide and he almost turned to leave but stopped when he felt smaller hands on his helm.

And then a kiss was pressed to his lips.

He watched as Toni pulled away faintly, resting small hands on his chassis as he explained what was on his mind.  Daystryke could feel those small hands trembled and he couldn’t stop himself from placing his own hands over them.  Reaching forward, the older mech gently placed a finger under Toni’s chin, tilting his face up so that he could look into his optics.

“I…  I care for you too, Toni.  I honestly thought that I ruined any chance I had with you.  I want to stay friends with you at least.  I don’t want to forget about this.  I don’t want to forget about you.  I’ll admit that the kiss was an accident, but it’s not one I regret.  I didn’t plan on it and I’m sorry that it caused this much trouble and that it hurt you like it did.”

He laughed weakly, giving the red mech a small smile as he brushed a thumb against the soft cheek under an optic.  “I’m a fool, Toni.  I’ve never been in a relationship.  I’ve never had any friends before now.  I never could be normal around others, no matter how hard I try.  I’ll probably do something stupid, no matter how much I try not to, but I do want to be with you.”

His voice dropped to a soft murmur as he leaned forward and by the end of his little speech, his nose was brushing against Toni’s.  Optics dimming slightly, he said, “I think I’m going to kiss you again…” before closing the last few inches between them.

Dee Ess grinned as he walked into the rec room, wings perked up at the highest point possible.  Ryuko noticed the scout’s rather happily expression, an eyebrow quirked in question and even Lexii lost a bit of the murderous expression she had when she learned that Daystryke was the reason why Toni was so sad.

Being the mech that he was, he went over to the energon dispenser and got himself a cube before coming back to the table where his friends were sitting.

“What?  Not going to take Day his cube of energon?”

Dee Ess shook his head, leaning back in his chair and taking a sip.  Sitting the cube down, he said, “I didn’t want to disturb Day.  He looked rather happy kissing Toni again.”
